SNO HISTORY

Puntaldia is the location that
saw the birth of SNO.

Founded by brothers Andrea and Francesco Pirro in 1988 with an office/shop of over 100 square meters in the centre of this famous touristic village located south of Olbia, SNO began its business with the sale of inflatable boats and small boats, carrying out, even before the port was born, assistance and mooring services for about 150 boats.

1988

After about 4 years from its beginnings, SNO expanded its activities to winter storage and to after-sales assistance, thus in 1992, whilst maintaining the Puntaldia office, SNO began its new storage and yacht assistance business by renting, in the Isola Bianca area of Olbia, a shed of about 5,000 sqm of covered area plus yard and docks, which belonged to the former Riva shipyard. The new space available allowed them to grow with the acquisition of larger and esteemed yacht brands especially in the world of fishing.

1996

Over the years, SNO gained many customers for storage and, in need of a larger shed, began its expansion with the purchase in 1996 of Cala Saccaia, a large sea-front plot in the Industrial Zone Sett. 1 of Olbia.

Thanks to its growing reputation for professionalism and reliability, SNO shipyard facilities expanded again with the purchase of a 13,000 sqm area where the current Su Arrasolu Shipyard site would be built. 2001 saw the inauguration of the second Shipyard in Olbia, Su Arrasolu.
In 2005, SNO took another big step in becoming one of the largest and most efficient shipyards in the Mediterranean with the acquisition of other lands adjacent to the already existing Su Arrasolu site, thus reaching a total area of 50,000 square meters.
In 2006 work began on the expansion of the shipyard dedicated to Super-Yachts, alongside the existing one in Su Arrasolu, together with the construction of a showroom and fit-out of new boats in front of the Cala Saccaia shipyard. The new Su Arrasolu shipyard, which would see the end of the works in summer 2007, can easily be defined among the largest in the Mediterranean with an 820-tons travel lift suitable for liftingyachts up to 70 meters in length.

2008

In 2008 part of the Su Arrasolu shipyard was dedicated to the construction of the unparalleled Novamarine, and in 2019 the foundations were laid for the new Novamarine production site alongside the SNO shipyard. The new headquarters will be operational in early 2021.

In addition to exponential growth under the location point of view, for the past 30 years SNO has represented almost all the largest yacht companies in the world, winning many awards as top dealers. For an international brand, choosing SNO as a dealer means being represented on Italian and many times even European soil with prestige and excellence, but above all with the utmost professionalism, the same that has distinguished SNO in these 32 years in the world of international boating.
